The Department of Anatomy showcased our next series of Edify presentation on Teaching Videos on 26.02.2022. The Edify Session started with award presentations. The Decennial Hall at SDCH was staged and honored by our respected and beloved Dr. Deepak Nallaswamy, Director, SIMATS, Dr. Sheeja Varghese, Registrar, SIMATS, Dr. S. Aravind Kumar, Dean, SDCH. “The Most Workaholic Award” is given to Dr. Karthik Ganesh, Assistant Professor, Department of Anatomy, SDCH and “The Most Punctuality Award” is given to Dr. Yuvaraj Babu, Associate Professor, Department of Anatomy, SDCH. The Edify session is moderated by Dr. Lavanya Prathap and presented the Teaching Video on “THE DEVELOPMENT OF FACE”. The video was played to all the Dignitaries on the Dias and all the Faculties gathered. After the video ended, as the feedback Director Sir commented on the videos as “Its a great effort and good presentation with one suggestion”. The Registrar and Dean also gave good feedback on the video. The session was also open for comments to all the faculties and ended with few clarifications.

National Conference on Plastination & Casting Technique /
National Conference on “Plastination and Casting Technique” is organized by the Department of Anatomy, Oral Pathology and Oral biology in a blended platform that comprises both online and offline sessions. The online session held on 14th December 2021 with scientific sessions, quiz and e-poster session followed by offline Hands on Workshop on 18th December 2021. Plastination is a technique used in anatomy to preserve the body parts. It was developed by Gunther Von Hagens. It is done by removing the fats and body fluids and replacing it by synthetic materials such as silicone, epoxy resins, epoxy polymers. The specimens are durable, do not decay, and odourless. The conference is organized with aim to create awareness to all budding health professionals in an around country.
